The method comprises the steps: obtaining the threshold feature information of sky regionsegmentation of a foggy image through a statistical model, and carrying out the segmentation of a sky region of the image according to the threshold feature information, and obtaining the effective range of a global atmospheric background light value; obtaining an initial transmissivity image of the foggy day image, and optimizing the transmissivity image by using an adaptive boundary limitationL0 gradient minimization filtering method; within the effective range of the global atmospheric background light value, inputting the optimized transmissivity image into a dark primary color theoretical model to obtain a plurality of restored initial defogged images; and fusing all the initial defogged images by using a fast exposure image fusion method of the significance weight to obtain a finalfog-free image.
