The invention discloses a method for selecting a working frequency band during subnet splitting of a wireless ad hoc network, and the method comprises the steps: enabling one wireless ad hoc network to be split into a first subnet and one or more second subnets, or to be split into two or more third subnets, wherein the ratio of the number of the communication nodes of the first subnet to the number of the communication nodes of the second subnets is not lower than a first preset proportion threshold, and the ratio of the number of the communication nodes of the second subnets or the number ofthe communication nodes of the third subnets is not higher than a second preset proportion threshold; and the first subnet, the second subnet and the third subnet respectively select respective working frequency bands, and the communication nodes in the subnets perform data transmission on the selected working frequency bands.
