The fingertip detection method comprises steps of 1, collecting a hand image; 2, performing preprocessing and image segmentation on the hand image to obtain a hand contour; step 3, aiming at each point to be measured; selecting two points at the front and rear positions; recording the positions of the two points; connecting two points at the front and rear positions of the to-be-measured point; dividing the length of the connecting line of the front point and the rear point of the to-be-detected point by the sum of the lengths of the connecting lines of the front point and the rear point of the to-be-detected point to obtain a ratio of 0-1, setting a fingertip-like curvature threshold, comparing the ratio with the fingertip-like curvature threshold, and detecting a fingertip-like point.
