The invention provides a group chat processing method and device, electronic equipment and a readable storage medium. The group chat processing method comprises the following steps of: receiving a group chat archiving request initiated by a first user, wherein the group chat archiving request comprises identity information of the first user and information of a to-be-archived group chat; judging whether the to-be-archived group chat meets a preset archiving condition or not according to the identity information and the information of the to-be-archived group chat; if the to-be-archived group chat meets the preset archiving condition, removing the to-be-archived group chat from a chat session list of group members of the to-be-archived group chat; and changing a group chat identifier of theto-be-archived group chat from a common group chat to an archived group chat. The group chat processing method is used for improving the flexibility of group chat processing so as to improve the useconvenience of group chat.
