The present application relates to a combine harvester (1) comprising an engine (38) having an engine output shaft (2), a layshaft (3) and a plurality of working elements, the engine output shaft (2)extending from the engine (38) towards a first side (6) of the combine harvester (1), the engine output shaft (2) and the layshaft (3) being coupled to each other in a torque-transmitting manner by means of at least one engine belt (7). According to the invention, to provide a combine harvester by means of which a change in the operating modes of working elements can be made as simply as possible,there is on the first side (6) of the combine harvester (1) a transfer device (19) which is coupled to the layshaft (3) in a torque-transmitting manner by means of a transfer belt (20), and the layshaft (3) extends from the first side (6) of the combine harvester (1) in a direction transverse to a longitudinal axis (8) of the combine harvester (1) towards a second side (9), opposite the first side (6), of the combine harv
