The invention relates to an alkyl silicone resin (A) containing at least 80 % by weight units of general formula I R1 a(R2O)bR3 cSiO(4-a-b-c)/2 (I), wherein R1, R2 and R3 stand for the alkyl groups defined in claim 1, a is 0, 1, 2 or 3, b is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and c is 0, 1 or 2, with the provision that the sum of a+b+c is less than or equal to 3 and in at least 50% of the units of formula (I) the sumof a+b is equal to 0 or 1 and in at least 20% of the units of general formula (I) c is equal to 1, wherein the content of alkoxy groups R2O is 5-20 % by weight.
