The air conditioner comprises a compressor, a first heat exchanger and asecond heat exchanger sequentially connected to form a closed loop, wherein the second heat exchanger comprises at least two heat exchanger coil pipes, and each heat exchanger coil pipe is independently connected with the first heat exchanger and the compressor through electronic expansion valves correspondingly. The method comprises the steps that whether the second heat exchanger meets the defrosting condition or not is detected; and if the second heat exchanger meets the defrosting condition, the air conditioner is controlled to start a first alternate defrosting mode through the electronic expansion valves for defrosting.
