The invention relates to a lifting device for an offshore wind turbine. An offshore wind turbine includes a tower, a transition piece, and a lifting device for operating an elevator within the wind turbine. The tower includes an internal platform at a bottom end of the tower. The transition piece comprises a suspension platform.
