Method of oxidising organic molecules

This invention relates to a method of oxidising organic molecules. The method comprises adding an oxidiser and an oxidising catalyst for activating the oxidiser, wherein the oxidising catalyst comprises an oligopeptide ligand complexed with a copper ion. In a preferred embodiment, the oligopeptide ligand comprises a tripeptide containing amino acids of glycine and histidine.
