The invention relates to the field of electric heaters, in particular to an immersion type thick-film liquid heater and an electronic dry burning prevention method thereof. The immersion type thick-film liquid heater comprises a heating liner and a thick film heater, and the head part of the thick film heater is arranged in the heating liner. The tail part of the thick film heater is connected with a power supply circuit, and the power supply circuit controls the start and stop of the thick film heater under the control of a main control circuit. The power supply circuit is further provided with a dry burning detection circuit. The dry burning detection circuit comprises a current transformer and a signal output circuit, the output end of the signal output circuit is connected with the main control circuit, and the current transformer is used for detecting the current change condition of the power supply circuit and transmitting an electric signal to the main control circuit through the signal output circuit.
