The invention discloses a power peak value adjusting system and method for a railway traction substation. The system comprises a power fusion device, a control device and an energy dispatching management device. The power fusion device is arranged in a traction substation and comprises an AC-DC-AC converter and an energy storage device. The control device is used for adjusting the operation stateof the power fusion device; the energy dispatching management device is used for obtaining the current load power value of the traction substation.
