Zusammenfassung:	A method and an apparatus for traversing a yarn, wherein a traversing yarn guide is moved by means of an electric motor. The actual position of the yarn guide is continuously determined by means of a measuring device and supplied to a control device, which performs a comparison between the actual and desired positions of the traversing yarn guide, and the control device generates a corresponding differential signal for controlling the operation of the electric motor.
