The invention provides a flow control method and device for distributed storage. The flow control method comprises the steps of calculating the total resource number of a resource allocation party andthe minimum reserved quota of a resource application end node corresponding to the resource allocation party; deducting the total reserved quota from the total resource number to obtain a residual resource quota, the total reserved quota being equal to the product of the minimum reserved quota and the number of all resource application end nodes; calculating weights of all nodes including all resource application end nodes; and allocating resource quotas according to the weights and the remaining resource quotas. The method is not limited to flow control of a protocol, ip and port strength based on a layer 4, and can also perform accurate flow control on the same protocol type and the same service.
