Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a composition comprising acibenzolar-S-methyl as an effective ingredient for controlling Bursaphelenchus xylophilus disease and a method for controlling Bursaphelenchus xylophilus using the same. The controlling effect of acibenzolar-S-methyl according to the present invention was identified in vitro to be attributed to induced resistance. Induced resistance generally elicits an effect with even a small amount and exhibits insecticidal efficacy in the mechanism of expressing a gene in plants, thereby producing neither toxicity to human bodies nor environmentalpollution. Hence, induced resistance allows the development of eco-friendly drugs against Bursaphelenchus xylophilus disease and can be used to highly increase the feasibility of developing a Bursaphelenchus xylophilus disease-controlling agent of a new concept.
