BATTERY MODULE

The present invention is directed to a battery module that comprises a plurality of aligned battery cells, wherein each of the battery cells comprising an electrode assembly accommodated in a batterycase, a cap assembly placed on the battery case, a gas exhaust vent in the cap assembly, and cell terminals protruding over the cap assembly. The battery module further comprises a plurality of busbars disposed on top of the cap assemblies, wherein each of the busbars are configured for electrically connecting cell terminals of at least two battery cells and the plurality of busbars being configured for conducting the current of the battery module. Further, at least one inlay is positively molded to at least one busbar and having at most the height of the at least one busbar. A top cover is disposed on top of the busbars and covering the cap assemblies of the battery cells, the busbars, and the at least one inlay, wherein the plurality of busbars and the at least one inlay form a support surface for supporting the
