The present invention is directed to a busbar with a busbar body portion that extends in an extension direction thereof with a length configured for connecting cell terminals of at least two battery cells of a battery module. The busbar further comprises at least two legs that extend from the busbar body portion in a direction non-parallel to the extension direction of the busbar body portion andthat are configured for electrically connecting the busbar body portion and cell terminals of battery cells of the battery module. The busbar of the invention comprises an improved elasticity, particularly between the legs and the busbar body portion and allows for a compact battery module design with low height.
