Display device supporting a variable frame mode

The invention relates to a display device. The display device supports a variable frame mode where each frame includes a variable blank period. The display device includes a display panel including aplurality of pixels, a backlight unit configured to generate light, a panel driver configured to drive the display panel, a backlight controller configured to drive the backlight unit, and a blank counter configured to count a time of the variable blank period.
