The invention discloses a process for dehydrating hydrocarbon-based gas. The present invention proposes to use a dry stream which is rich in C4 to C10 hydrocarbons as stripping agent for improving theregeneration of the liquid desiccant according to the invention. This dry stream rich in C4 to C10 hydrocarbons is extracted from the gas derived from the dehydration, for example during a step of extraction of NGL located downstream of the gas dehydration unit. The stream of stripping agent recovered at the outlet of the liquid desiccant regeneration unit may be recycled into the process of theinvention or sent to a unit external to the process according to the invention.
