The invention relates to a cluster well gas gathering system and a control method and belongs to the field of coal seam gas transportation. The cluster well gas gathering system comprises a pluralityof gas inlet pipelines, gas regulation valves, gas inlet valves, a gas collection manifold, an output pipeline and a check valve. Each gas inlet pipeline communicates with at least one exploited wellof cluster wells. Each gas inlet pipeline is provided with one gas regulation valve and one gas inlet valve. The plurality of gas inlet pipelines communicate with the output pipeline through the samegas collection manifold. The gas collection manifold communicates with the output pipeline through the check valve. The gas inlet pipelines communicate with the exploited wells. Coal seam gas in the exploited wells goes into the gas inlet pipelines. The plurality of gas inlet pipelines are connected with the output pipeline through the gas collection manifold.
