The invention provides a method for treating algal bloom or red tide through intermittently combining ultraviolet rays and hydrogen peroxide. The method comprises the following steps: adding hydrogenperoxide into a water body subjected to algal bloom or red tide, and immediately implementing first ultraviolet source irradiation; and stopping irradiation for intermittence after the first ultraviolet source irradiation, and then carrying out second ultraviolet source irradiation to realize algal bloom or red tide treatment.
