The invention provides an automatic-switchable external take-up multi-spool take-up device and a take-up method, which are used for making an external take-up stranding machine tool change from single-spool take-up to multi-spool take-up. The external take-up multi-spool take-up device comprise a wire arrangement device and a take-up device.
