The steel plate coating removing device comprises a servo synchronous conveyor, a steel plate end surface positioning mechanism, a laser head moving unit, a control unit, a detection system, a laser and a control system of the laser, wherein the servo synchronous conveyor is used for conveying a steel plate; the steel plate end surface positioning mechanism is arranged on one side of the servo synchronous conveyor and is used for positioning the steel plate as a reference; the laser head moving unit is arranged above the servo synchronous conveyor and is used for mounting a laser head; the detection system is arranged on the steel plate endsurface positioning mechanism and is used for detecting the moving position of the steel plate and the width and the thickness of a removed coating; and the control unit is used for controlling the servo synchronous conveyor
