Error detection method

The invention provides an error detection method, which is suitable for a computer host comprising a central processing unit and a memory and comprises the following steps of: executing a program codeof a basic input/output system by the central processing unit to execute startup self-detection, wherein a program code of the basic input/output system provides a driving program, so that a plurality of pieces of debugging information can be correspondingly output to the memory; in the initial stage of startup self-detection, after the memory is initialized, enabling the central processing unitto store the debugging information into the memory; and after the startup self-detection is finished, reading the debugging information stored in the memory by using application software. According tothe scheme, the debugging method for storing the debugging information into the memory is utilized, so that the execution efficiency of startup self-detection is greatly improved, and the developmenttime is further shortened.
