An apparatus for controlling a travel speed of a construction machine comprises: first and second hydraulic pumps for supplying hydraulic oil to first and second travel motors, respectively; first andsecond sensors which are installed at discharge lines of the first and second hydraulic pumps, respectively, and are for detecting first and second pump pressures acting, respectively, on the first and second travel motors; at least one travel speed control valve which is switched on and off according to a travel speed control signal so as to control swivel angles of swash plates of each of the first and second travel motors; and a travel speed control unit for comparing a difference value between the first and second hydraulic pumps with a predetermined value and then outputting, to the travel speed control valve, the travel speed control signal so as to reduce the revolutions-per-minute of the first and second travel motors, if the difference value is equal to or greater than the predetermined value. 本发明的工程机械的行
