Zusammenfassung:The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a food for dysphagia patients which has the useful functions of probiotics, said functions having been imparted to the food for dysphagia patients in the course of the preparation thereof, so that the probiotics administered to dysphagia patients can be delivered as living cells to the intestine; and a thickening composition therefor. To solve this problem, provided is a thickening composition for dysphagia patients which is prepared by mixing dried probiotic cells or a dried probiotic cell preparation with one or more kinds of polysaccharides selected from the group consisting of polysaccharides including xanthan gum or guar gum and hydrolyzates of the polysaccharides to thereby give a powdery mixture in which the probiotics and the polysaccharide(s) coexist in a contact state.
