Zusammenfassung:The embodiment provides a magnetic disk device that can improve reliability by safely performing retract control even if there are a plurality of actuators independently driven. According to one embodiment, the magnetic disk device includes a first control unit and a second control unit. The first control unit controls action of a first actuator with a first head which reads/writes data from/to afirst magnetic disk. The second control unit controls action of a second actuator with a second head which reads/writes data from/to a second magnetic disk.
