Apparatus and method for making glass

Disclosed is a molten glass delivery apparatus comprising a fining vessel, the fining vessel including a wall, wherein a thickness of the fining vessel wall varies circumferentially. In some embodiments, an upper portion of the fining vessel in contact with a gaseous atmosphere within the fining vessel is thinner than the remaining portion of the fining vessel in contact with molten glass.
