The invention relates to a monitoring unit (1) for a system for generating medical pressurised air. The pressurised air monitoring unit (1) is provided with a measurement air line (3) for withdrawingpressurised air from a pressurised air supply line downstream of a pressurised air conditioning unit, at least one sensor (2) for generating a measurement signal according to a characteristic of the pressurised air conveyed through the measurement air line (3), at least one air humidifier (8) for the humidification of the pressurised air downstream of the sensor (2), and an output unit (12) whichemits information relating to the characteristic of the pressurised air to a user based on the measurement signal. The described technical solution is characterised in that a tapping point (4) for withdrawal of pressurised air and a control element (5) for altering a volume and/or mass flow of pressurised air in the measurement air line (3) are provided, wherein the control element (5) is insertedinto the tapping point (4)
