Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce a shock acting on a drive system for improving riding comfort and prevent the consumption of a storage battery by providing an auxiliary power limiting means to limit a variation at every constant period within a constant range, regarding a target assist quantity obtained so as to correspond to human drive power. CONSTITUTION:This vehicle is equipped with a human drive power detection means 54 and a travel control means 140 for computing the target assist quantity of a motor 38 at every constant period on the basis of detected human drive power, and controlling and keeping the assist quantity of the motor 38 at the computed assist quantity. Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with an auxiliary power limiting means 140A for gradually increasing or decreasing the target assist quantity at every constant period, while limiting the variation of the target assist quantity obtained before and after the constant period within a constant range. According to this construction, the sudden change of the assist quantity of the motor 38 at the time of the sudden change of leg power can be prevented, and a shock acting on a drive system is reduced, thereby improving riding comfort. In addition, excessive motor current is prevented from flowing, and the consumption of a storage battery is prevented.
