The invention relates to a method for preparing powdery gamma-aminobutyric acid from fermented solutions being rich in gamma-aminobutyric acid. The method disclosed by the invention is characterized in that by using Lactobacillus brevis CGMCC No.3414 as a fermented strain, obtained fermented solutions are processed in several steps such as solid-liquid separation, decolourization anddesalination, powder is prepared by utilizing a spray drying technology, and influences of different technological parameters on spray drying velocity and product quality of the fermented solutions are researched; through optimization by a single factor test and a response surface test, the best spray drying process is obtained.
