Passenger conveyor

The invention provides a passenger conveyor which can prevent an object from being clamped between a tread of a step, namely a pedal, and a guard plate at an inclined part between a lower floor and anupper floor. The passenger conveyor comprises: a pair of upper and lower paths provided at different height positions; an operation path for cyclically moving the tread surface of the step connectedin an endless manner between the pair of upper and lower paths; a pair of cover plate members vertically provided on both sides of the pair of upper and lower paths and both sides of the running pathin the moving direction of the running path; and a guard plate provided at a predetermined height of the cover plate member so as to protrude toward the travel path side.
