The technical problem that in the prior art, due to the fact that the storage space of an intelligent terminal is limited, super-large pictures are difficult to store is solved. 本发明公开了一种图像的存储方法和装置。其中，该方法包括：获取用于对待存储图像进行压缩的目标采样率，其中，待存储图像通过预设应用程序获取；根据目标采样率对待存储图像进行压缩处理，得到压缩后的图像；将压缩后的图像存储至设备的目标缓存中，其中，目标缓存为预设应用程序对应的缓存区域。本发明解决了现有技术中智能终端的存储空间有限导致难以存储超大图片的技术问题。
