Zusammenfassung: | The invention belongs to the field of ceramic cutting tools, and discloses a boron carbide (B4C) reinforced titanium diboride (TiB2) based cermet and a preparation method and application thereof. Thepreparation method comprises the steps of ball milling and mixing TiB2-B4C ceramic powder and bonding agents WC, Co and Mo, and drying the mixture to obtain mixed powder; heating the mixed powder to 1,000-1,500 DEG C in vacuum; and then heating the mixed powder to 1,750-1,900 DEG C under the protection of argon at the axial pressure of 30-50 MPa, and carrying out spark plasma sintering to obtain the B4C reinforced TiB2 based cermet. The B4C reinforced TiB2 based cermet has the advantages of high hardness, good chemical stability and better wear resistance and cutting performance, and is applicable to the field of cutting tools for difficult-to-machine materials.
