Microscope system and method for operating a microscope system

The invention relates to a microscope system comprising several microscope modules which are interconnected for transmitting data. The microscope system is characterised by a central clock generator,the clock signal being emitted to all microscope modules. The microscope modules are designed to use the clock signal or a clock pulse derived therefrom as internal clock pulses.
