Zusammenfassung:	An electronic mirror apparatus has a display unit; an optical mirror; a mode switching unit; and a luminance adjustment unit. The display unit displays a camera image of the peripheral visual field ofa vehicle imaged by an on-vehicle camera. The optical mirror is disposed on a liquid crystal panel side, and shows the reflection image of the peripheral visual field. The mode switching unit switches the mode between a mirror mode for visually identifying the peripheral visual field by the reflection image of the optical mirror and a display mode for visually identifying the peripheral visual field by the camera image of the display unit. The luminance adjustment unit adjusts the luminance of the display unit between a first luminance threshold value for guaranteeing visibility and a secondluminance threshold value for suppressing deterioration of a backlight.
