Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to the field of microorganisms and specifically discloses a bifidobacterium longum W68 and an application thereof. The bacterium is isolated from intestinal tract of a longevity old man in Xiayi County, Henan Province and a preservation number of the bifidobacterium longum is CGMCC No.15028. The bifidobacterium longum can effectively increase the number of one or moreof bifidobacterium and lactobacillus in intestinal tract without substantially changing the total number of intestinal flora, reduces the number of one or more of escherichia and enterococcus in theintestinal tract, while has no significant effects on the number of other flora, for example, the number of clostridium.
