The brake assembly includes an operating shaft configured to rotate about a first axis defined by a body of the brake to actuate the brake, wherein the operating shaft includes a convex bearing surface that is arcuate and defines a second axis parallel to and offset from the first axis; a yoke having an arcuate concave support surface, wherein the yoke is configuredto move linearly relative to the body when the operating shaft rotates about the first axis; a rotating element support, wherein the rotating element support has a plurality of rotating elements heldby a cage frame, the cage frame is provided with a first arc-shaped part, and the first arc-shaped part has a first array of apertures for receiving some of the plurality of rotating elements.
