The invention discloses a full air volume cooling system and method for a coal face, and belongs to the technical field of mine thermal hazard treatment. The system comprises a water chilling unit, afreezing water pump, a cooling water pump, an air inlet air cooling device, an air return air cooling device, a working face, an air inlet roadway, a main air return roadway and corresponding pipelines. The water chilling unit is arranged under a mine, chilled water prepared by the water chilling unit is conveyed to the air inlet air cooling device at the air inlet roadway through a pipeline, andcooling and dehumidifying treatment is carried out on air before entering the working surface. Meanwhile, the air return air cooling device is installed in the main air return roadway of the mine, andcooling water is treated by the return air of the mine. Compared with the prior art, the heat environment in the mine can be improved integrally, the air inlet air cooling device and the air return air cooling device do not ne
