Zusammenfassung: | The embodiment of the invention provides a method and device for detecting an external box of a sweeping robot, wherein the method for detecting the external box of the sweeping robot comprises the steps of: judging whether the external box is inserted into the sweeping robot or not through a Hall switch, wherein the box comprises a dust box and a water tank; if so, judging whether an object in the box is up to the pre-set threshold value or not through a corresponding sensor; and, if the object in the external box is up to the pre-set threshold value, sending a running prohibiting prompt. When the seeping robot works, the insertion state of the external box is detected; the equipment fault due to wrong operation is avoided; a user is reminded about the state of the external box; idling ofa motor is avoided; and the service life is prolonged.
