The method comprises the steps of creating first thread and a second thread which are independent of each other; acquiring data shot by a camera through the second thread according to a preset time interval; converting the data into the preset first data and sent to the first thread, receiving the first data and plays the video accordingto the first data by the first thread, so that the video playing pressure of the first thread is reduced, the user interface jamming problem is effectively avoided, and the user experience is improved. 本发明提供的一种播放视频的方法及装置，通过创建相互独立的第一线程和第二线程，并通过所述第二线程根据预设时间间隔获取摄像头拍摄的数据，将所述数据转化为预设的第一数据，并发送至所述第一线程，所述第一线程接收所述第一数据，并根据所述第一数据进行视频播放，降低了第一线程进行视频播放的压力，从而有效的避免了用户界面卡顿问题，提高用户体验。
