Zusammenfassung:The invention provides a 3D vision based detection device and detection method for punching angle steel. The device includes a 3D camera, a device body and an auxiliary rack; the 3D camera is connected to the device through a connecting piece; the device body includes a first connecting device which is detachably connected to the auxiliary rack; and the device body moves based on instructions to drive the connected 3D camera to straightly move along the auxiliary rack. Thus, the straight moving of the device body can drive the connected 3D camera to shoot processed angle steel, and shot information is transmitted to a detection controller to perform judgement; and the device carries the planar array 3D camera, wide adaptability detection in a spatial range can be performed on the starting edges and punching features of angle steel with varying sizes, thicknesses and dimension parameters in a detection visual field, and initial parameters are set so that on-site parameters can be directly adapted without debug
