METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR SYNCHRONIZING CAMERA FLASH AND SENSOR BLANKING

An aspect of this disclosure is an apparatus for capturing an image. The apparatus comprises an image sensor configured to capture an image of a field of view. The apparatus also comprises a flash component configured to illuminate at least a portion of the field of view at a power level during capture of a first frame by the image sensor. The apparatus further comprises a controller. The controller is configured to determine a flash ramp-up time for the flash component, the flash ramp-up time corresponding to an amount of time between a flash being requested at the power level and the flash component producing the flash at the power level.
