A stator (13) of a rotating electrical machine (10) is provided with: a stator core (20) which is annular and has a plurality of slots (21) in a circumferential direction; and a stator winding (30) wound into the slots. The stator winding comprises a plurality of coated conducting wires (40) in which a wire-like conductor (51) is coated with an insulating coating (52), and an exposed portion (53)in which the conductor is exposed is formed in an end portion of the coated conducting wire. The plurality of coated conducting wires are joined at the exposed portions of different conductors, and the conductor joint portion is covered by an insulator (55) in a zone including at least the end portion of the insulating coating.
