The method comprises the steps that a selenium source and a niobiumsource are uniformly mixed and sintered at the specific temperature under a non-oxidizing atmosphere or in vacuum, and after natural cooling, the pure-phase niobium diselenide material is prepared. The material has the advantages of low investment, simple preparation technology processes and devices, convenient operation, high product purity, good safety performance and the like. When applied to the electrode material of the sodium-ion battery, the prepared niobium diselenide material is excellent in cycling stability performance and rate capability.
