Electric meter automatic reading method based on image recognition

The invention relates to an electric meter automatic reading method based on image recognition, and the method comprises the steps: (1) carrying out the preprocessing of a collected electric meter image: carrying out the coarse positioning, coarse cutting and graying of the electric meter image in sequence, and obtaining a gray level image; (2) carrying out binarization operation on the gray levelimage through a local adaptive threshold value to obtain a binarized image; (3) performing a de-connection operation to obtain an approximate digital region image; (4) selecting each digital cut-offposition through a longitudinal projection method, and further marking an accurate digital area; and (5) dividing each number according to the positions of the numbers, and performing single number recognition by using a seven-block area scanning method to obtain a final number recognition result. Compared with an existing electric meter digital recognition method, the method pays more attention to operation on picture str
