System and method for visual traceability of requirements for products

A system (100) and method (400) is provided for visual traceability of requirements for products. The system may include a processor configured to generate a user interface (134, 302) through a display device (114) that outputs a listing (136, 210, 304) of at least a portion of a plurality of requirements (122, 124, 132) for a product (118) based on data stored in a data store (116) that specifiesassociations (120) between requirements and one or more of a plurality of components (128, 130) included in the product. The processor may receive a first input through at least one input device (112) that is representative of a first selection of at least one (124, 306) of the plurality of requirements. Responsive to the first selection, the processor may determine at least one component (128, 308, 310) that is associated in the data store with the at least one requirement for the product that was selected via the first input and cause the user interface to visually indicate in a three dimensional (3D) visualization
