Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a locking device (1) for an energy storage device of a motor vehicle, having a locking element (5), which is adjustable, based on a control signal, by means of an adjusting device, between a locking position, in which the locking element (5) engages with a latch receptacle (14), and a release position, in which the locking element (5) is out of engagement with the latch receptacle (14), wherein the adjusting device has an adjusting element (6; 16) made of a shape memory alloy, wherein the shape change thereof enables the locking element (5) to be adjustable between thelocking position and the release position. The invention further relates to a method for operating such a locking device (1).
