Zusammenfassung:A method is provided for operating a spinning machine or winder (1) that includes a plurality of same-kind workstations (2) and a plurality of input terminals (3) situated with the workstations (2). The method includes at least intermittently configuring at least one of the input terminals (3) as a master terminal (4). Commands are entered for operation of all or a group of the workstations (2) via the master terminal (4). Designation of the master terminal (4) is changed to one or more different ones of the input terminals (3) at different points in time.
