The invention discloses an electric lock and a mounting method thereof. The electric lock comprises a lock bolt, wherein the lock bolt is in driving connection with an electric lock bolt driving mechanism; the electric lock bolt driving mechanism is electrically connected with a main board; the main board is electrically connected with a fingerprint sensor; and the main board is electrically connected with a battery. The mounting method of the electric lock comprises the following steps: putting a locking beam spring in a locking beam end hole; putting a lock bolt spring in a lock bolt springcavity; then putting the lock bolt in a lock bolt guiding hole; then pressing the lock bolt downwards to insert the left end of the locking beam into the lock bolt guiding hole; blocking the upper endof the lock bolt guiding hole by using a guiding and limiting plug; and putting a light guiding cover into an indicator light through hole.
