Zusammenfassung:	Described is method for controlling a geometric form of an electric arc between a top electrode assembly (1) and a bottom electrode assembly (2) in a furnace space (3) of an electric arc furnace and an electric arc furnace comprising a furnace space (3), a top electrode assembly (1), a bottom electrode assembly (2) comprising a plate structure (5), and an electrical power system (4) configured tosupply electrical power to the top electrode assembly (1) and to the bottom electrode assembly (2).
